Over the past 5 years, Enerlife has helped Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) to plan and implement projects in 35 of their schools, which saved the board over $3.5 million in energy costs – an excellent use of Ministry of Education’s Energy Efficient Schools funding. Now, SCDSB plans to invest in more projects, aiming to achieve $5 million in further savings in 28 schools, as detailed in the board’s new Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan prepared by Enerlife. The plan complies with the Green Energy Act legislation and has been approved by SCDSB at the June 18 board meeting. According to John Dance, Superintendent of Facility Services, “The SCDSB has gone above and beyond to comply with the Green Energy Act, and in doing so, we have achieved significant energy savings and reduced our greenhouse gas emissions.”
